The film you'll want in twenty years.
Documentary films about the people you love. No posing, no script, no matching outfits — just your family as it actually is, made to be watched for decades.
Ordinary Moments, Made Memorable
Bikes, parks and little people being themselves.
Small films. Long shelf life.
A day with the family
An ordinary Saturday, filmed properly. The bits you'll miss most are the ones you'd never think to film.
Parents & grandparents, in their own words
Ask the questions you've always meant to, and keep the answers. Possibly the most valuable hour of filming there is.
Milestones & reunions
Big birthdays, anniversaries, the whole family in one place for once. Documented, not staged.
A gift that isn't another thing
For the parent or grandparent who already owns everything and claims to want nothing. They'll want this.
Relaxed, on purpose.
We talk first
Who's in it, what matters to you, and where everyone is most themselves. That's where we film.
I turn up and pay attention
A few hours, one camera, no lighting rig in your living room. People relax quickly when nobody's telling them where to stand.
You get a film, not a slideshow
A short documentary edit, finished with care — sound, colour and all — plus the files to keep forever.
Personal films start at $1,500. That covers a few hours of filming and a finished short film, with the files to keep. Longer days and interview films cost more. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll come back with a straight number: no packages, no upsell.
Ask for a quote →The sensible questions.
Do you film weddings?
No. Personal films are something quieter — families, milestones and stories, filmed documentary-style.
How much does a personal film cost?
From $1,500 for a few hours of filming and a finished short film. Longer days, more locations or extended interviews cost more, and you'll get a straight quote before anything is booked.
How long is a personal film?
Usually a few minutes — long enough to tell the story, short enough that people actually rewatch it. Longer interview pieces are possible too.
Can a family film be a gift?
Yes, and a very good one. We can keep it a surprise for whoever it's for, within reason — it's hard to hide a camera at a birthday party.
Where do you film?
Wherever your family is most itself — home, the lake, the park, the grandparents' kitchen. I'm based in St. Michael and film across Minnesota.
Someone worth filming?
Tell me who, and roughly what you have in mind. I'll come back with ideas and a straight price.
